Rep. Halbrook Responds to Governor Pritzker’s State of the State and Budget Address

Springfield, IL…State Representative Brad Halbrook, R-Shelbyville, issued the following statement in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s State of the State Address delivered to a joint session of the Illinois General Assembly.

“We’re all tired of hearing empty promises from Governor Pritzker that he won’t keep,” Rep. Halbrook said. “I’m going to fight for the issues that are important to my constituents and that will better our communities. The citizens of Illinois deserve real action that leads to real change. Governor Pritzker proposes no significant structural changes to our spending pressures under this budget. No permanent property tax relief has been extended, and no regulatory relief has been implemented. Republicans are here to work. We want to make reforms to state government to fund our shared priorities and keep government functioning effectively by living within our means.”

Rep. Halbrook proudly serves the 107th District of Illinois, which includes portions of Macon, Shelby, Christian, Cumberland, Effingham, Moultrie, and Montgomery Counties.
