Rep. Halbrook and several of his House Republican colleagues stood up for women at the Capitol today, pledging support for legislation protecting women’s sports and personal spaces.
House Bill 5830, co-sponsored by Halbrook, clearly defines in law the terms “woman”, “man”, “male” and “female” to prevent judges or others from unilaterally redefining the word to mean “anyone identifying as a female”, and therefore, allowing biological males into women’s locker rooms, restrooms, dormitories, and other spaces.
“This legislation is about protecting women’s safety, privacy, and their athletic achievements,” Rep. Halbrook said.
