Halbrook Applauds Awardees of Library Grants

SHELBYVILLE, IL… State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) issued the following statement after 19 libraries in the 107th District were selected for the Public Library Per Capita Grants, totaling over $109,000:

“I am thrilled that so many libraries in the 107th District were awarded the Public Library Per Capita Grant,” said Rep. Halbrook. “These grants will be instrumental in filling the gaps for libraries to meet or make strides towards meeting Illinois library standards. Our libraries are a great resource for so many, and these grants will make progress possible.”

The purpose of the Per Capita Grant is to help assist public libraries to provide library services that meet or are showing progress towards meeting Illinois library standards. The grants are distributed by the Illinois Secretary of State’s office. In the 107th the following libraries were awarded:

  • Altamont Public Library: $3,268.60
  • Assumption Public Library District: $2,652.05
  • Marrowbone Public Library District: $2,978.03
  • Blue Mound Memorial Library: $3,379.23
  • Dry Point Township Library: $1,402.73
  • Effingham Public Library: $18,071.70
  • Herrick Township Public Library: $783.23
  • Lovington Public Library District: $2,656.48
  • South Macon Public Library District: $3,227.30
  • Mount Zion District Library: $18,388.83
  • Moweaqua Public Library District: $3,983.98
  • Neoga Public Library District: $4,333.55
  • Nokomis Public Library: $4,104.93
  • Carnegie-Schuyler Library: $7,668.53
  • Shelbyville Public Library: $6,894.15
  • Elizabeth Titus Memorial Library: $6,509.18
  • Taylorville Public Library: $15,496.35
  • Windsor Storm Memorial Public Library: $2,060.58
  • Witt Township Memorial Library: $1,538.43
