SHELBYVILLE, IL… State Representative Brad Halbrook issued the following release after filing a resolution that would declare September 12, 2025 as The Day of the Bible in Illinois.
HR 474 would encourage schools, civic institutions, churches, and community organizations throughout the State to observe this day with appropriate educational, historical, and culture programs and activities that highlight the Bible’s significance in the past, present, and future of our State and nation.
“The Bible has served as a profound influence on both our state and nation since their foundings,” said Rep. Halbrook. “The Bible not only serves as a spiritual guide, but a moral guide, helping to shape many of our core American values. In recognizing the Bible’s role in our nation and state’s heritage, we are reaffirming the importance of faith and religion. I encourage all Illinoisans to join me in commemorating September 12th as The Day of the Bible here in Illinois.”
