🎃 More Tricks from Chicago Democrats — and Fewer Treats for Illinois Families

This week was another reminder of why Illinois families are frustrated. The State Board of Education is lowering academic standards while pretending test scores are improving. Chicago Democrats pushed through a $2 billion transit scheme that raids downstate road funding and hikes tolls by 60%.

Meanwhile, forecasts show Illinois will lose over a million residents by 2050 — the worst outlook in the nation. But it doesn’t have to be this way. With real reforms, tax relief, and policies that support families and businesses instead of punishing them, we can change the direction of our state.

Education Cut Scores

Earlier this year, the Illinois State Board of Education voted to lower proficiency benchmarks for Illinois students rather than deliver real results for the children of our state. Now, they’re patting themselves on the back for “improving” test scores.

Transit Funding Plan Robs Downstate of Hundreds of Millions in Road Funding

On Halloween morning, it was all trick and no treat for Illinois taxpayers.

Democrats passed a $1 billion tollway hike and diverted another +$1 billion motor fuel tax funds to bail out Chicago’s failing transit system.

That money was supposed to fix downstate roads and bridges — not prop up Chicago’s mismanagement.

Why should the rest of Illinois have to pay for Chicago’s failures?

Illinois Expected to Lose Over 1 Million Residents by 2050

Illinois is expected to lose more than a million residents by 2050, based on forecasts from the University of Virginia. That puts us DEAD LAST in the nation for population growth.

Illinoisans are fed up with the high taxes and yet nothing to show for it. Illinois has all the resources to be among the fastest-growing states in America, but decades of poor public policy has left residents searching for an exit strategy.

We can change the outlook for the Prairie State by providing much needed tax relief, enacting pro-business policies, and building safer communities for all.
