ILLINOIS – State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) spoke on the House floor last week to outline his concerns with Illinois’s commitment to abortion. He went on to describe that Illinois has become the nation’s leading destination for out-of-state abortions.
Sadly, Illinois accounted for 23% of all such abortions in 2024 and that out-of-state patients made up 39% of Illinois abortions last year. That is not an achievement to celebrate.
Halbrook says that under Governor Pritzker, Illinois has not only expanded abortion through law, but is also using public resources to promote and fund it, turning our state into a national hub for abortion.
This is a tragic reflection of misplaced priorities and a direct assault on the sanctity of innocent life. We should be working to protect the most vulnerable, not making Illinois a beacon for ending unborn lives. All lives matter and deserve our protection.
