SPRINGFIELD – Rep. Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) recently welcomed Ashlyn Gilmartin to the Capitol. Ashlyn is 14 years old and will be entering her freshman year at Cumberland County School in Greenup.
Ashlyn is a varsity cheerleader and has participated in gymnastics for many years, attending gymnastics nationals four years in a row and placing in the top 10 each year. Through athletics, she has learned the value of dedication, discipline, and determination.
She also enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering in the childcare department at her church and working at a local bakery during the summer. In the future, Ashlyn hopes to attend LSU and pursue a career in criminal defense to help people better understand and protect their legal rights.
Rep. Halbrook was proud to recognize Ashlyn and wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
