Rep. Halbrook Highlights Opening of Trump Accounts Program for American Families

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) is encouraging families to learn more about the new Trump Accounts. The program, which is now open, is designed to help children begin building long-term financial security at an early age.

“Helping young Americans save and invest early is a strong step toward a more secure future,” Rep. Halbrook said. “Trump Accounts give parents, grandparents, friends, and employers a simple way to invest in the next generation.”

Under the program, all U.S. children under age 18 with a valid Social Security number may have a Trump Account established. Eligible children born between 2025 and 2028 may also receive an initial $1,000 contribution from the U.S. Treasury.

Family members, friends, and employers may contribute up to $5,000 per year, giving children a stronger start as they grow.

Families can learn more and establish an account by completing IRS Form 4547 at TrumpAccounts.gov. The Trump Accounts app is also available for download on iOS and Android.
