Democrats Only Support Law Enforcement for Political Gain

Late last night, House Democrats called a series of new crime bills to try to distract from the damaging SAFE-T Act they passed last year over the objections of law enforcement groups, victims’ rights advocates, and public safety experts. Supporting law enforcement only when it is politically convenient is a disservice to all Illinoisans. If we really want to help law enforcement fight rising crime across our state, we have to repeal the SAFE-T Act as well.
