Rep. Halbrook Sworn-In As 103rd General Assembly Begins

At a noontime ceremony at the University of Illinois at Springfield, State Representative Brad Halbrook took the Oath of Office to serve the new 107th District as the 103rd General Assembly gets underway. Rep. Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) stressed that new and returning members have big challenges ahead to undo Democrat policies that have driven families and businesses out of Illinois.

“Democrats have been working overtime to export disastrous Chicago policies to the rest of the state. High taxes, crushing regulations, and increased lawlessness have caused families and employers to flee our state for friendlier homes. We must turn that around,” Rep. Halbrook said. “Illinois can be great again and a plan to make that happen starts here.”

The 107th District is located in Macon, Shelby, Moultrie, Christian, Montgomery, Cumberland, and Effingham counties including places like Mt. Zion, Moweaqua, Taylorville, Lovington, Allenville, Shelbyville, Teutopolis, Blue Mound, Beecher City, Cowden and Oconee.

Rep. Halbrook is a native of Central Illinois. He currently resides on a small farm in Shelbyville, and is the former owner of a fence contracting business. He encourages residents of the 107th District to contact him with questions or concerns as the General Assembly’s spring session moves forward.
