SHELBYVILLE, IL… State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) issued the following statement after news emerged that former Governor Jim Edgar passed away after a battle with cancer:
“I extend my deepest condolences to the friends and family of former Governor Edgar. Governor Edgar led with courage and public service at his core, working beyond party lines often. Governor Edgar dedicated many years to bettering the State of Illinois, and it was a privilege to know him. During this difficult time, I will continue to pray for his family and loved ones, and I ask others to do the same as they grieve the loss of a truly respected leader.”
