SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) joined law enforcement officers, families, lawmakers, and community leaders at the Illinois Police Officers Memorial Ceremony on May 7 in Springfield to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
“Today we remember the officers who gave their lives protecting our communities and keeping Illinois families safe,” said Rep. Halbrook. “These heroes put service above self every day, and we owe them and their families our deepest gratitude.”
The annual ceremony at the Illinois State Capitol honors fallen officers from across the state and recognizes the courage and dedication of law enforcement officers who continue to serve Illinois communities.
Rep. Halbrook said the memorial is an important reminder of the risks officers face each day.
“Our law enforcement officers stand between order and chaos,” Halbrook said. “They deserve our respect, our prayers, and our support as they work to protect our neighborhoods and uphold the law.”
